Wedgewood County Club hosts Scramble and Par 3 Shootout

Wedgewood Country Club hosted an 18-hole 1-person Scramble and Par 3 Shootout Saturday, July 12, with 34 golfers participating.  Thank you tournament sponsors for providing funds for the $1,000 Par-3 Shootout.  A special thank you also to Chuck Gallagher of Pro Graphics of Cabool for the wonderful sponsor recognition sign.  “Eagle” sponsors include American Family-Kim Norris, Cabool Lease Inc., Cabool Medical Clinic, Cabool Tires Inc., Community First Banking Co., Cranberry Merchant, Crowley’s Homework’s, First Home Savings Bank, Hawkins Home & Lawn, Jack McGownd Auto Sales, Matherly and Associates Insurance, Pinnacle Propane, Richards Brothers, River Rock Ready Mix and Target Construction.   “Birdie” sponsors were Bruce’s Auto Repair, Cabool Insurance Agency, Cabool Kountry Meats, Corner Café Cabool, Country Mart – Mtn. Grove, Meek Lumber, Missouri Gun Company LLC, Ozark Mountain Screen Printing, Progressive Ozark Bank, Town & Country – Cabool and Walker Parts and Service.  

Sixteen golfers qualified for the shootout held on hole number 7.   Marty Todd hit the 110 yard shot to two feet and three inches for first place; second place went to Ted Noirfalise at 11 feet 11 inches; and Dustin Hunter, 17 feet 10 ¾ inch.   Scramble winners include Championship Flight Doug Jones, Mansfield with a score of 62; Kelly Lowe with a score of 62; and Kevin Lowe with a score of 63.   All A Flight winners scored 65 including first place Charlie Blackwell, second place Jerry Dennis and 3rd place Kim Wake.    B Flight winners all scored 71 including Trent Jones, first place; John Cook second place; and Ted Noirfalise, third place.

Friday, July 11 Cat and Dog League results are as follows:  A Flight first place Doug and Donna Jones and second place Doug and Melanie Cook.  B Flight winners were first place Jordan Noirfalise and Jody Jarrett and second place Devon and Cheri Foster.  Closest to the pin winners include number 2 hole Cheri Foster and number 5 hole Doug Cook.   Martin Kaps won the longest putt on hole number 7.  

Mary Beth Kaps won first place and Julie Jackson second place in the Women’s League Monday, July 7.  Julie Jackson won closest to the pin on holes 2 and 7.

The next Wedgewood event will be the annual Cat & Dog 18-hole Scramble Saturday and Sunday July 26 and 27.    Tee times will be 8:30 and 1:30 each day.   Golfers can play multiple times with different partners.  Hole prizes will be awarded both days for both men and women.  Sign up at Wedgewood or contact Kevin in the Proshop at 962.5374 to enter the tournament.
