The Mountain Grove Panthers advanced to a matchup  in the Gold Division Semi-finals of the Greenwood Blue and Gold Tournament with number one seed Nixa with a 77-66 win over West Plains Monday evening.

The Panthers had opened the tournament with a 58-48 win over Reeds Spring in the opening round of the tournament.

Mountain Grove had to come back from a 16-9 first quarter deficit. The Panthers had closed the gap to three at halftime.

The Panthers took their first lead with just over six minutes remaining in the third period  when they scored the first six points of second half. The teams would trade the lead throughout the remainder of the quarter and Reeds Spring would start the final period with a 37-33 lead.

Mountain Grove went on top for good with 4:29 remaining in the game on a three point shot from Cade Coffman. He followed that up with a two point bucket and the Panthers were able to maintain the lead from that point on.

Carter Otwell led the Panther scoring with 17. Two other Panthers were in double figures with Cade Coffman scoring 12 and Brock Coffman, 11.
