The Wedgewood Annual Cat and Dog 18-Hole Scramble was held Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27.    Both days were hot golfing days but with some wonderful breezes 84 dedicated golfers participated.

Golfers from local towns and courses including Cabool, Mansfield, Marshfield, Mountain Grove and Willow Springs played.  Championship winners included 1st place Michael McDaniel and Ranee Roberts; 2nd place Kevin Osborne and Michele McDaniel and 3rd place Troy and Jona Hull.   A Flight winners were 1st place Gary Greene and Jordyn Loge; 2nd place Bruce and Diane Harris and 3rd place Kyle Wake and Michele McDaniel.   B Flight winners were Tom and Linda Benyo; 2nd place Terry Amos and Lou Cannon and 3rd place John and Margie Cook.  C Flight winners were 1st place Brandon and Asilynn Hamilton;  2nd place Larry and Jo Prichard and 3rd place Ted Noirfalise and Cheri Foster.   Saturday hole prize winners included closest to the pin Hole 2 Donna Jones and Charlie Blackwell; Hole 5 Freda Proctor and Jeremy Raney and Hole 7 Cheri Foster and Michael McDaniel.   Closest to the pin Hole 6 on the 2nd shot was Ginny Hyde and Charlie Blackwell.  Longest putt made on Hole 9 was Michael McDaniel with a measurement of 28 feet and 7 inches. Sunday hole prize winners included closest to the pin Hole 2 Lou Cannon and Harry Linton; Hole 5 Linda Benyo and Doug Jones and Hole 7 Asilynn Hamilton and Doug Cook.  Closest to the pin Hole 6 on the 2nd shot Patsy Wyatt and Doug Cook.  Longest putt made on Hole 9 Troy Hull with a putt of 28 feet 9 inches.   Thank you hole sponsors Club 60 Steakhouse, China Grove Restaurant, El Imperial Restaurant, LA Café, L&R Industries, Midway Sports Bar and Grill, Replogle Farms Trucking, Sunnyside Café and Willow Springs Golf Course.   

Fifteen teams participated in the Cat and Dog League Friday, July 25.   A Flight winners were 1st place Chris and Sheena Jackson; 2nd place Trent and Chelsie Jones and 3rd place Doug and Donna Jones.  B Flight winners were 1st place Doug and Melanie Cook; 2nd place John and Margie Cook and 3rd  place Travis and Anne Longwell.  C Flight winners 1st place Gary Maggard and Retta Burke; 2nd place Brett and Alyssa Boyd and 3rd place Jordan Noirfalise and Jody Jarrett.  Closest to the pin on Hole 2 was Retta Burke and closest to the pin on Hole 5 was John Cook.   Longest putt made on Hole 7 was Jordan Noirfalise with a putt of 18 feet 3 inches.

Tuesday Evening Men’s League results for July 22 include closest to the pin winners Hole 2 Doug Jones, Hole 5 Jack McGownd and Hole 7 Jerry Dennis.   The lone skin winner was John Cook on Hole 1.   The first place winner was Jack McGownd and several golfers tied for 2nd including Kevin Clark, John Cook, Jim Perry and Steve Skyles.   

Men’s League results for July 15 include closest to the pin Hole 2 Mike Medwid, Hole 5 Ted Noirfalise and Hole 7 Dusty Schober.   Skin winners were Hole 3 Harry Linton, Hole 5 Dusty Schober, Hole 6 Doug Jones, Hole 7 Shelby Gray and Hole 8 Dusty Schober.  The first place winner was Jordan Noirfalise and a tie for second was Brett Boyd, Doug Jones, and Dusty Schober.

Results for July 8 Men’s League include closest to the pin Hole 2 Jerry Dennis, Hole 5 Doug Jones and Hole 7 Trent Jones.  Skin winners were Hole 2 Jerry Dennis and Holes 4 and 5 Doug Jones.  The evening winner was Adam Howe and a tie for second included Steve Skyles, Doug Jones, and Travis Longwell.

Monday Women’s League results for July 21 include 1st place team Margie Cook, Julie Jackson and Donna Jones.    Closest to the pin winners were Hole 2 Freda Proctor; Hole 5 Linda Hancock and Hole 7 Donna Jones.

Monday, July 21 a group of Wedgewood volunteers worked diligently trimming the giant Cottonwood tree in the valley between Holes 7 and 8.  Thank you Dean Curtis, Jerry Dennis, Monty Housley and Ted Noirfalise.   Scott Elliott, Grounds Superintendent, supervised the project which really opened up the view of Hole 8.   Also a thank you to Max Hancock for pruning and trimming trees around the course.

The Annual Club Championship will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 2 and 3.    Anyone with a current league handicap will be eligible for the handicap division.    Sign up in the proshop or contact Kevin at 417-926-5374.
