Graveside services for Judith Richie were held Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Penner Cemetery with Bro. Jack Holland and Bro. Justin DeVries officiating. Burial was in the Penner Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
Judith (Clark) Richie, daughter of the late Millard and Emma (Lawson) Clark, was born Oct. 28, 1940, in Champaign, Ill., and departed this life Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., at 72 years of age.
Judith grew up in Decatur, Ill., and graduated high school in Middletown, Ohio. She later graduated from the Eastern Illinois University. She was united in marriage to Dave Richie Sept. 10, 1960, in Middletown. One daughter, Tory, was born to this union.
Judith enjoyed being outdoors, especially when working in the yard and tending to her flower gardens. In her spare time, she loved working with her dogs and Arabian horses. She also liked to read classical books and do personal writing, which was her passion.
Judith was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Judith enjoyed attending services at the First Christian Church in Mountain Grove as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by her husband Dave Richie, Mountain Grove; daughter Tory Spurgin and husband Brent, Macomb, Mo.; sister Joy Cunningham, Bethany, Conn.; grandchildren Rachael McLennan, Rebecca McLennan, and Connor McLennan; great-grandchildren Ivy Holman and Dorian Holman; and other relatives and friends.
