Two Mountain Grove residents fatally injured in car accident

Two Mountain Grove residents were fatally injured in an accident on Hwy. 60, one mile east of Cabool, on Friday, July 1.

The Patrol reported that a 1995 Chevrolet van driven by Rose Gochal, 89, Mtn. Grove, failed to yield at the crossover, drove onto the highway and was struck in the side by a 2012 Dodge pickup driven by James R. Sorrell, 35, Urbana. The collision caused the pickup to strike a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, driven by Kevin C. Enderle, 49, West Plains.

Rose Gochal and Raymond Gochal, 64, a passenger in the van were pronounced dead at the scene by Texas County Coroner Thomas Whitaker.

Five occupants of the pickup were reported to have suffered injuries. James R. Sorrell was reported to have suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Ozarks Medical Center by Texas County ambulance. Karrie A. Sorrell, 25, Urbana; Cameron A. Adams, 9, Urbana; and Brieanna M. Sorrell, 3, Urbana, all suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Ozarks Medical Center by ambulance. James W. Sorrell, 5, Urbana, was reported to have suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield by Air Evac.

Kevin C. Enderle suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center.
