Se-Ma-No Electric Foundation on January 26, awarded seven grants for a total of $6,500. Foundation Vice-President Sue Fuge awarded the following grants: Mountain Grove Project Graduation, $500; Norwood Project Graduation, $500; Mansfield Project Graduation, $500; Lions Share Backpack Program, $1,500; Pregnancy Resource Center, $1,300; Wright County Children’s Home, $1,000; and Mansfield Sr. Citizens Club, $1,200.

Heavy rainfall results in evacuation effort

The heavy weekend rains resulted in flooding of several area roads, and caused the evacuation of approximately 30 people north of the Burlington Northern railroad tracks and Lake Lilly in Mountain Grove.

Mtn. Grove School District receives safety grant

The Mountain Grove School District has been awarded a school safety grant in the amount of $7,895 from The Missouri School Boards’ Association through its Missouri Center for Education Safety (CES).  The funds will be used by the district to install additional stop arm cameras on their school bus fleet.

Wright Co. schools all over 90 percent on Annual Performance Reports

More than 98 percent of the school districts in the state scored at least 70 percent of the possible points on their Annual Performance Reports, which places those districts in the fully accredited range, according to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
