The Mountain Grove Area Community Foundation has an afternoon of fun scheduled for Sunday, March 1. The afternoon starts with a BBQ pork lunch at 12:30 p.m. at the ConnXtion Entertainment Complex in Mtn. Grove. But it will not be any ordinary lunch, there will be fun and games and a chance to be a participant in the Foundation’s own version of “Let’s Make a Deal” with prizes worth up to $100.
Several persons have added their names to those filing for area city and school board positions which will be selected during an April election.
The Wright County Emergency Services Board is continuing to meet weekly with the sole goal of getting Wright County’s 911 system up and running as soon as possible. They are starting with nothing, including money, equipment, radio frequency and location. The Board is committed to get the 911 system operational quickly.
Mountain Grove Christian Academy students enjoyed the holiday season by both receiving and giving to others. Earlier this year the students participated in two different programs, the S.O.A.R. program through the Physical Therapy Specialists (health risk assessment) as well as the “Go Nuts for Your School” fundraiser (collecting black walnuts). Mountain Grove Christian Academy received a S.O.A.R. grant on November 25 after a portion of their students had undergone a health risk assessment and were each provided with an individualized health improvement plan. The grant monies were used to purchase equipment for various physical fitness activities the students participate in as well as including an outreach component to home school and other Christian Schools in the area.
There have been no new filings for the Mountain Grove aldermanic positions for the April ballot.
Intercounty Electric Co-op has received report from our members of a phone scam targeting Intercounty members. The caller informed member that their payment was late due to their most recent credit card payment not going through. The caller then asked for a new card number to complete the payment.
A Coach Easter Basketball Jamboree will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Mountain Grove High School Arena.
