If you are thinking about starting a business and want to do it the right way, Operation JumpStart can help. If you have a business that is stagnant and want to improve it, Operation JumpStart can help. Operation JumpStart is coming to Houston, Aug. 6, and the deadline to sign up is fast approaching.

So what is Operation JumpStart: First Step? It is a practical, hands-on, small business development program designed to help entrepreneurs test the feasibility of their business ideas and plan to launch new ventures. This proven curriculum was developed for entrepreneurs and covers a wide range of training topics, including concept development, market research and analysis, pricing, financial projection, and case studies. Over the course of 12 sessions, attendees work with our experienced facilitation team to create a feasibility plan for their business.

Here is what Michele Nigliazzo, a past graduate of an Operation JumpStart class in West Plains, had to say about the class. “I have learned so much from the classes and course materials.  The material seems very basic and sometimes I wonder why I didn’t get it out of the workbook, but it is the process and the excellent way that process is explained that has made the difference for me. … The class has been invaluable in getting my thinking process aligned with business startup.” Michele took the information from the class and has opened a child advocacy business, Nigliazzo Advocacy Center, located at the Ozarks Small Business Incubator in West Plains.

If you too are ready to grow your knowledge and grow your business, you can still register for Operation JumpStart: First Step. The Houston session of Operation JumpStart: First Step will begin August 6 and meet Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 - 9 pm. Classes will be held in the Community Building at the Texas County Fairgrounds on North Hwy. 63 in Houston. Individuals interested in taking the class may get an application at Houston City Hall, Houston Chamber of Commerce, by visiting the OzSBI website at, or by calling OzSBI at 417-256-9724.

The cost of the program is $125 and includes the workbook and dinner the first evening. To register for the class, return the application with a $25 registration fee. Your registration fee will be reimbursed to you for perfect attendance. The registration deadline for the Houston class is July 31.
