Wright County Children’s Home welcomed George Duey, as a new member of the Board of Directors. George is filling the vacancy on the board left by the resignation of Paul Harker.

George was born and raised in Mountain Grove and graduated from Mountain Grove High School with the class of 1970. He then attended Mid-American Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.  After graduation, he returned to Mountain Grove.

He met and married his wife Elaine, who was a teacher at the Mountain Grove High School.  They have three children and six grandchildren.  George worked in the family business, Duey Generator, until he opened his own shop, Duey’s Auto, Electric, and Air.

He also owned Duey’s One Stop Auto Parts Stores in Mansfield and Norwood.  In 1997, he left the private sector and began teaching Automotive Technology at Ozark Mountain Technical Center in Mountain Grove and retired in 2012.

George and Elaine attend Faith Community Church of the Nazarene where he is the worship leader, teaches an adult Sunday School class, and serves as a trustee on the church board.
